HIGHLIGHTS

  • In 2016, Schmidt help lead the 28-6 Dukes to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, in the school's first ever NCAA Tournament appearance, after being named Atlantic-10 regular season co-champions

  • Schmidt was an integral part of the coaching staff that saw the Dukes participate in back-to-back WNIT post season appearances (2015 & 2016) including a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2015

  • As the head coach at Armstrong Atlantic State, Schmidt led the program to 60 overall wins, including 37 conference wins. His teams, which included only six full-scholarship players, saw the most conference wins in program history in a single season, defeated two nationally ranked teams and recorded the school's highest conference finish in 15 years

  • In 2008, while an assistant coach at Northern Kentucky University, Schmidt and the Norse won the NCAA Division II National Championship. Schmidt help the team compile a 92-32 record and earn three trips to the NCAA Tournament over a four period

  • Has a MS degree in physical education from West Virginia University a BA in education from West Liberty University
