Northeastern assistant Dave McLaughlin named Dartmouth men’s basketball coach

Lauding his work as a strong tactician, his history in developing players, and his passion for the game, Dartmouth hired Northeastern assistant Dave McLaughlin as its men’s basketball coach Monday afternoon.
A Brockton native and Boston College High graduate, McLaughlin was the associate head coach, and recruiting coordinator, for Bill Coen the past three seasons at Northeastern. In the 2014-15 season, the Huskies earned their first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 24 years.
Coen said that he could not imagine a better fit than Dartmouth basketball and his former assistant.
In a stellar nine-year run in charge at Division 2 Stonehill in the Northeast-10 Conference, McLaugh guided the Skyhawks to a 189-99 mark, punctuated by a 27-win squad that advanced to the national semifinals in 2005-06. His 2012 club also reached the national semis.
