McALLEN - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers introduced Nick Nurse as the team's fourth head coach in franchise history on Monday. Nurse comes to the RGV from Iowa, where he was the head coach of the Energy the past four seasons. 

Earlier this year, Nurse and the Iowa Energy defeated the Vipers to earn the NBA D-League Championship. Nurse was also named the NBA D-League Coach of the Year at the end of the season. 

When he's not coaching in the United States, Nurse is an assistant under ex-Vipers coach Chris Finch with the Great Britain National Team. With Finch now an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets, Nurse joins the Vipers as the next man tasked to continue the recent success of the D-League affiliate.
